Terms of use
Last updated September 10, 2026.
This site is operated by Alongside Insurance Group, LLC, doing business as Alongside Insurance ("we", "us"), an independent insurance agency licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance. Our license number is in the footer of every page.
These terms cover alongsideinsurance.com, the forms on it, the guides, and the emails you exchange with us after using the site. By using the site or sending us a form you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Ourprivacy policy is part of these terms.
You must be at least 18 to use the quote form, and you must be requesting insurance for yourself or for a business you are authorized to act for.
What we are, and what we are not
We are an insurance agency. We represent several insurance carriers and place your coverage with one of them. We are not an insurance company. We do not issue policies, set rates, decide claims, or pay claims. Those are the carrier's decisions under the policy it issues.
We are paid by commission from the carriers we place coverage with. If we ever charge you a fee on top of that, Texas law requires us to disclose it to you in writing first, and we will.
Information, not a policy
Everything on this site, including the guides, is general information about insurance in Texas as we understood it on the date shown on each page. It is not a policy, not a binder, and not advice about your specific situation. Coverage is provided only by the policy documents issued by a carrier, and those documents control if anything here differs. Read your policy, and ask us if something isn't clear.
We use software, including AI tools, to help research and draft the guides and coverage pages. We check each one against the sources it lists before publishing, and we describe that process on our how we write our guides page. Laws, rates, and carrier rules change, and we don't promise that any page is complete, current, or free of error on the day you read it. Reading a page doesn't make us your agent, and you shouldn't rely on it in place of your own policy documents or a conversation with us. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we'll correct it.
Client reviews on this site describe one person's experience. Your experience, your premium, and your claims will depend on your own facts and policy.
Quotes
Quotes are free and carry no obligation. A quote is an estimate based on what you told us and what the carrier could see at the time. It is not an offer of coverage. The final premium is set by the carrier after underwriting and may differ, and a carrier can decline to write a risk. We cannot promise that every risk can be placed.
Nothing is bound or changed until we confirm it
Submitting a form on this site does not bind coverage and does not make us your agent. The same goes for a request to start, change, cancel, or reinstate coverage that you send by form, email, text, or voicemail. Such a request takes effect only when a licensed agent confirms it to you in writing, or when the carrier issues the change. Until then, the coverage you have is the coverage you have. Do not cancel an existing policy because you received a quote from us.
This site is not for reporting claims. Report a claim to your carrier using the number on your policy or ID card, or call us and we will help you do it. A claim described in a form, email, or text is not reported until the carrier has it.
What you tell us
When you send us information through the site, you confirm that:
- It is accurate and complete as far as you know. Carriers rate and issue policies on what you tell us. A misstatement can lead a carrier to re-rate, rescind, or deny a claim under the policy and Texas law.
- The phone number and email you give are yours, or you have the owner's permission to give them and to agree to be contacted at them.
- You are not sending someone else's personal information without their permission.
Using the site
You agree not to:
- Send fake, test, or automated form submissions, or try to get around the human check on the form.
- Scrape, copy, or mirror the site or the guides for commercial use without our written permission. Search engines indexing the site are fine.
- Probe, overload, or interfere with the site or the systems behind it.
- Use the site for anything unlawful.
We may block access, ignore a submission, or decline to quote at our discretion, and we don't have to explain why.
Electronic communications
You agree that we may communicate with you by email and this site, and that those communications satisfy any requirement that a communication be in writing, except where Texas law or your policy requires paper. Email is not fully secure. Do not send Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, card numbers, or full dates of birth through the form or in plain email. When we need details like that, we will ask for them through a secure channel.
Ownership
The text, guides, images, and design on this site belong to us or are used with permission. You may read, print, and share them for personal, non-commercial use with credit to us. "Alongside Insurance" and our logo are ours. Carrier names and logos belong to the carriers and appear with their permission.
Links and third-party tools
We link to other sites and tools, including the Texas Department of Insurance, carrier sites, Google, and portals run by our software vendors for sharing policy details or quoting. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or what they do with information you give them.
No warranties
THE SITE, THE GUIDES, AND ANY QUOTE OR INFORMATION ON THE SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT TEXAS LAW ALLOWS, WE MAKE NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND ABOUT THE SITE, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SITE WILL BE AVAILABLE, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT INFORMATION ON IT IS CURRENT. THIS SECTION IS ABOUT THE WEBSITE. IT DOES NOT CHANGE ANY DUTY WE OWE YOU AS YOUR AGENT ONCE WE PLACE A POLICY FOR YOU.
Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT TEXAS LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON GENERAL INFORMATION ON IT, UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SITE ITSELF IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
Nothing in these terms limits our obligations to you under a policy we place for you, our duties under the Texas Insurance Code or Texas Department of Insurance rules, or any liability that cannot be limited under Texas law, including liability for our own fraud or willful misconduct.
Your responsibility for your own conduct
If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms, gave us false information, or sent us someone else's information or phone number without permission, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable legal costs we incur as a result. We may take over the defense of any such claim, and you agree to cooperate.
Disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a problem with us, email hello@alongsideinsurance.com with what happened and what you want us to do. We will do the same if we have a problem with you. Both sides agree to try in good faith to work it out for 30 days before starting arbitration or a lawsuit.
You can always go to the regulator. Nothing here limits your right to file a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance or any other government agency.
Arbitration. Except for the two cases below, any dispute between you and us arising from these terms or the site that we can't work out will be resolved by binding arbitration before a single arbitrator under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, not in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitrator can award you the same relief a court could for your individual claim. Hearings happen in the Texas county where our principal office is, or by phone or video. The exceptions: either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either side may ask a court for an order to stop misuse of the site or of our content.
No class actions. Disputes are resolved one at a time. You and we each give up the right to take part in a class, collective, or representative action. If a court finds this sentence unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim goes to court, not arbitration.
You can opt out. You may reject this arbitration section by emailing hello@alongsideinsurance.comwith your name and phone number and the words "opt out of arbitration" within 30 days after you first send us a form. Opting out doesn't affect anything else in these terms.
Governing law and courts. These terms and any dispute are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Anything not sent to arbitration will be heard in the state or federal courts for the Texas county where our principal office is, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
Other terms
- Changes. We may change these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and using the site after that means you accept the change. Changes don't apply to a dispute that started before them.
- Events beyond our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as outages at our hosting or email providers, carrier system failures, severe weather, or government action.
- Assignment. We may transfer these terms, for example if the agency or its book of business is sold. You may not transfer them.
- Whole agreement. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about the site. They don't replace any policy, application, or written agreement about your insurance.
- Severability. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies, and the unenforceable part is read as narrowly as needed to make it enforceable.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a term once, we can still enforce it later.
- Survival. The sections on warranties, limitation of liability, your responsibility for your conduct, and disputes continue to apply after you stop using the site.
